We’ve just shipped one of our biggest updates to The ARK yet. Here’s what’s new.
Living Compendium Beta · Loremaster
Your sessions can now automatically build into a living campaign wiki. NPCs, locations, factions, plot threads, items, and more are pulled directly from your session transcripts and organized into a searchable compendium.
New entries go into a review queue so you stay in control of what becomes canon, and you can bulk approve entries whenever you’ve got a backlog to work through.
Beta note: While Living Compendium is in beta, you can only attach it to one campaign at a time — so choose wisely!
Scribe just got smarter
Scribe got a major brain upgrade.
- Understands what page you’re currently viewing inside The ARK and answers with that context in mind.
- Faster, more accurate responses about your campaign.
- New @ mentions let you reference NPCs, locations, sessions, and more directly in your questions.
Documents finally have a bigger purpose
Files attached to your sessions and campaigns now:
- Give Scribe additional context when answering questions.
- Help seed your Living Compendium.
- Can be shared with your players through the same shared views you already use.
Plus, document uploads are now faster and more reliable.
Better sharing
- Shared sessions and campaigns now generate rich preview cards with titles, descriptions, and images wherever you post them — including Discord.
- You can also include your campaign and session documents in shared views.
TL;DRs & smarter summaries Archivist · Loremaster
- After your session summary is generated, The ARK now automatically creates a quick TL;DR, making it easy to remember what happened at a glance.
- Document lists now also include summary previews, so it’s easier to find exactly what you’re looking for.
Referral program
Love The ARK?
- Invite your friends using your own referral link and earn rewards when they become paying members.
Your new referral dashboard is available in Settings, or anytime from the navigation menu.
Easier sign-in
- Sign in with Google (including your Google profile avatar).
- Improved email verification.
- Better handling of expired sessions.
Session Insights
Ever wondered who actually does all the talking? Every session now includes a new Insights tab, giving you a breakdown of participation based on words spoken.
You’ll be able to see:
- How much each participant contributed to the conversation.
- A DM vs. Players talk-share comparison.
- Which players are driving the conversation and who might need a little more time in the spotlight.
It’s a great way to spot table dynamics, encourage quieter players to get more involved, and help make sure everyone gets a chance to shine.
Better session experience
- Discord events now appear directly alongside your transcript timeline.
- New Favorites section in the sidebar for quick access to your most-used content.
A cleaner, more modern ARK
The app has a refreshed look across the pages you use most. Campaigns, sessions, shared pages, settings, menus, buttons, cards, tabs, and modals now feel more consistent, easier to scan, and more at home with the rest of The ARK.
This is the kind of update that should mostly feel invisible in the best way: fewer rough edges, clearer actions, and less friction when you are moving between your campaigns, sessions, notes, documents, and Compendium entries.
Switch between Ark Flame theme or Ark Classic theme at any time in the Settings.
Small improvements you will notice
- Resizable Scribe panel: make Scribe wider when you want more room to read, then collapse it when you need the full page. The app remembers your choice for next time.
- Collapsible side menu: keep navigation open when you want labels, or tuck it into icon mode when you want more workspace.
- Favorites: star campaigns, sessions, and Compendium pages so your most-used places are always close by. You can reorder favorites and expand favorite campaigns to jump right into their sessions.
- Faster wayfinding: global search is easier to reach from the side menu, including the keyboard shortcut for quick jumps.
- More useful session pages: transcript, summary, highlights, documents, and insights now live together in a cleaner tabbed view.
- Friendlier sharing controls: shared sessions can now include more of the context your players care about, including documents when you choose to share them.
