The DM’s ARK didn’t start in a boardroom. It started with two kids who met in elementary school, stayed up too late playing video games, and eventually fell headfirst into Dungeons & Dragons. We’re Noah and Nick — lifelong friends, occasional rule-lawyers, and the team behind everything you see here.
Games first, always
We’ve known each other since grade school. Back then it was Nintendo, backyard adventures, and whatever new obsession one of us dragged the other into. That pattern never really stopped — it just leveled up when we discovered tabletop RPGs.
D&D gave us the stories we still talk about years later: the nat-20 at the worst possible moment, the NPC everyone accidentally adopted, the boss fight that was supposed to be easy. But it also gave us a familiar DM problem — what actually happened last session?
Between scribbled notes, scattered Google Docs, and the vague memory of someone saying “we’ll definitely remember that,” campaign continuity was always harder than it should be. We built The DM’s ARK because we wanted to stay in the story, not buried in admin work after every game.
The phone call that started it
In January 2025, Noah called Nick with an idea: what if your sessions could transcribe themselves, organize the important bits, and give you a searchable memory of your entire campaign — without replacing the creative work only a human DM can do?
We didn’t need convincing. We’d lived the pain. We hung up the phone, opened our laptops, and started building the thing we wished had existed at our own tables.
Meet the team
Still the same two guys — just with more responsibilities and slightly better blazers.
Noah
Co-founder
The one who picked up the phone in January 2025. Noah’s the spark behind The ARK — obsessed with making session memory effortless so DMs can focus on the world, the players, and the moment at the table.
Nick
Co-founder
Noah’s partner since elementary school and in every half-baked scheme since. Nick helps turn ideas into something real — building, refining, and making sure The ARK actually solves the problems DMs run into every week.
How we got here
-
The idea
Noah calls Nick. The pitch is simple: build a memory layer for D&D campaigns — transcription, recall, and organization without automating the storytelling.
-
Beta opens
We invite real DMs to the table. Early users stress-test transcription, session summaries, and campaign search while we fix what breaks and listen to what matters.
-
We go live
The DM’s ARK launches publicly. Same mission as day one: handle the notes so you can run the game.
Why we keep building
We’re not trying to replace Dungeon Masters or generate your campaign for you. The ARK is a memory tool — built by people who love this hobby, for people who love this hobby. Every feature we ship comes from the same question we asked ourselves at the start: would this have made our last session easier?
If you’re running a game and tired of losing track of what happened three sessions ago, try The ARK free for a month. And if you have feedback, we read all of it — come find us on Discord.
